If you drive east from Cagliari, which is the capital city of the island, you quickly reach the coastal highway that offers a breathtaking view of the landscape of Southern Sardinia’s coast. Most of the small sand promontories are only a few metres away from the road, so many people who feel like a swim simply park their car by the side of the road and spontaneously take advantage of the opportunity for a refreshing dip.
Because of all the activity nearby, you would not even guess that – hidden by the holiday villas of the town of Geremeas and therefore a good distance away from the stream of tourists – there is a wonderful, two kilometre wide beach opening up just beyond that.
The two road access points leading to the residential areas are quite inconspicuous, suggesting that people here appreciate peace and quiet above all. The hotel that just opened recently, which offers a wide range of activities, has introduced a stimulating element.
By contrast, if you have the privilege of spending your holiday in one of the beautiful villas, you will appreciate the special combination of proximity to the sea and a high-end residential ambience.
The eastern end of the fine sandy beach described above is right next to the elegant neighbourhood of the town of Torre delle Stelle and during the day it is the spot where the people who live there prefer to spend their time. By contrast, during the siesta and evening hours, the mostly lush gardens with shady areas are the most appealing spots to while away the hours. In the summer months it is also possible to do shopping errands for everyday items at the adjacent supermarket.
