Only two minutes by car east of Geremeas, we reach the turn-off for the exclusive residential area of Torre delle Stelle.
The idea of christening the old lighthouse around which this charming village was built “Star Tower” was probably born of a feeling of being closer to the heavenly bodies at this spot than anywhere else. At night, the two hills towering majestically over the sea usually offer an unimpeded view of the Milky Way; after sunrise, the extraterrestrial spectacle gives way to an earthly one.
Because quite a few earth-bound stars have built their hideaways here and spend the day resting their eyes on the crystal clear waters, where the observer can easily survey and penetrate the activity thanks to the slightly sloping location and the outstanding quality of the water. A longing for sand is sated by two adjacent bays with fine-grained sand where swimmers and water sports aficionados get their money's worth. The affiliated diving school is integrated into the infrastructure of the town, which is otherwise still intact. A supermarket, restaurant and football field make planning holiday activities easy.
Once you have been here, you will soon have much more to say about “La Dolce Vita”, the magical sea and - thank heaven – the stars.
